This review by Andrew O’Hagan of the latest publishing phenomenon – Fifty Shades of Grey – is elegantly written and very funny.I think he gets it absolutely right –  a light but insightful touch. http://www.lrb.co.uk/v34/n14/andrew-ohagan/travelling-southwards

Andrew O’Hagan is among my favourite writers and if you’ve never read any of his  books then you might want to put them on your list.  My favourites are Be Near Me and the very different but hugely entertaining and clever The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog and his Friend Marilyn Monroe.
